Well thanks for visiting this part of the site. I get the funniest phone calls from folks needing my services, and it's like the first awkward kiss...who goes first? So here you can learn more about me, and my neat little business.
All inspirational speakers advise that if you are to start your own business, do something that you love. Well I love animals, dogs in particular, and I'd own as many as I could fit in my house, but my husband won't agree on this wish of mine. He thinks our three dogs, two cats, 4 horses, pigeons, and fish are too many. Sheesh!
I've always wanted to help animals too, try bringing little dying animals back to life etc... and always thought I'd be a decent vet, then I realized I'd rather not deal with bloody hurt critters constantly. Happy healthy critters are more to my liking.
As a kid my folks raised AKC German Shepards, and we always had big dogs. I never had a small dog till I went to the pound (how un-AKC-ish) one day and rescued the cutest, smartest, sweetest mutt puppy. I agree some of the best dogs are rescue dogs.
Later in life I raised pheasants, quail and chuckars for hunting in Nebraska. As my old Sheppard passed on, and I was near all these supreme hunting dogs at bird dog trials, I was introduced to pointing labs. I just edited this part, and took out a chapter on my dogs. To read more about them and you can visit www.reddogspoint.com I raise a litter every year.
So more about me. A lot of people want to know my age, and my responsibilty level. I'm 38 (yikes) and a mother of 3 great kids. I have been married to an excellent man for 12 years. We live out in the 'country' south of town with some acreage for our horses. We also own a ranch in NE that we truely love, and plan to retire there in 9 more years.
I owned an art gallery in Evanston, WY for 4 years in the mid 90's. I also opened a sister store in Logan Utah before I sold the whole shabang and we bought the ranch. My husband was offered a job back here that we just couldn't turn down at the time, so Worland has been our new home for over 4 years. We just love the Basin, and the people here in town!
I have worked part time at Family Farm for 3 years. I trade my work time for dog food, treats, bird food, etc... I just love working with Becky, and the whole crew there!
Well I hope you've learned more about me, and are comfortable with what I can offer to you. I have a lot of regular customers who will be very willing to give you a referral if you would like. Just ask and I will gladly supply you with some numbers.
So this is just like the motivational speakers say: Make your passion your business. I love every dog I meet and this has become a fun business. Thanks for reading this far. I look forward to meeting you and your critters.
